Today, I officially got 5 cm cut at the hairdresser, and it turned out much shorter than I thought. Looking in the mirror right now makes me feel anxious; what should I do? I don’t feel good at all. I feel like I have no hair, and I’m worried about what everyone will say. How can I get through this crisis?
I think you’ve exaggerated a lot.
I had my hair cut too short once, the first week was really bad but you get used to it in some way.
Did you actually specify a clear length to the hairdresser? 5 cm doesn’t seem that short, does it?
@soncaykaldi I actually said it, but at that moment it went off track with the scissors, and then I couldn’t recover. Do you think it can be fixed?
@kahvebitmeden that first week you mentioned is what totally messes with human psychology; that’s why I think it’s not a small deal.
I know that feeling very well; it’s like you’ve been slapped every time you look in the mirror. I think instead of fixing it, you should try some different styles for a while to clear your mind.
Generally, you can request a second correction appointment for a haircut error. Most places will do it for free. However, if they did it despite you saying the length, it likely means it was their interpretation.
Just hang in there for a week, if you can’t get used to it, you can try something temporary like a wig. Besides, a 5 cm difference shouldn’t make a dramatic result.
If you don’t trust the hairdresser, don’t go to the same place; they might cut it oddly again. Get a second opinion, there might not even be anything left to fix.
