My sister made a special comment on Instagram

My sister commented "Pay attention here, it's a very special post" under one of my social media posts. This really disturbed me because it made me realize that my family and neighbors had noticed this situation. I tried to talk to my sister about it, but she dismissed it by saying "What's the big deal?" Should I be protecting my privacy on social media, or should I make peace with it? What would happen if my family found out about this?

Once, while I was posting a story, my mom noticed your way of commenting. I clearly talked about it at home and set some boundaries, then she didn't interfere. It's worth a try.

Has your sibling done this before? Or is there some tension between you that they wrote this intentionally?

@yazipsildim Yes, actually, this isn't the first time. They've made indirect jabs like this a few more times. But this time, they were more straightforward.

To be honest, I don't understand this: why is everything so transparent on social media? If it's something that will disturb your family, why did you share it? I think that's the real issue.

You definitely need to regulate your social media privacy. Review your sharing settings to avoid triggering family issues. Especially, there is an option to restrict this kind of entries.

Come on, can such small things really be a problem?

@biseydiycem this isn't a minor issue. Family dynamics come into play, and this doesn't go smoothly in every household.

Was your post really something that would catch attention? Or was it an ordinary post? It depends on how you look at it 😅

My sister does things like that, she recently threw shade at me through my WhatsApp status, so I sat down and talked to her directly. Honestly, I'm trying to get to the point without prolonging it 🤷‍♀️

By the way, instead of deleting those comments, why not just write "Why?" under that comment and pass the ball back to them? Let's see how they explain it; it might be entertaining.

I think this is not just about social media sharing. It seems like there’s something building up between you and your brother. If he’s willing to make such an open comment, he must have an issue, so I would suggest sitting down to ask him. But don’t expect him to just tell you directly when I say "brother"; you might need to dig a little to get to the bottom of it. 🙄

Maybe they just did it to get attention? I mean, you might look like it's a serious discussion, but sometimes people do such things just to provoke a reaction. Let’s see, do they really have an issue or are they just saying "look, I'm here"? 😳

But how "special" is this comment? For example, is there an implication, is there direct criticism? We need to understand this. Maybe it's an explosion of another situation that has been nurtured within it. Can you give a bit more detail?

Isn't it strange how these siblings poke each other on social media? If they just sent a direct message, nobody would see it; saying "sister, this is like that" would be much shorter. But no, everyone is on stage like Shakespeare. Was that comment actually meant for someone else? Is there someone targeting you?

You also need to look at the timing of the comment. Did they write it right at that moment after you shared something, or did it come later, out of the blue? Was it a spontaneous reaction or a thoughtful move? You can understand better what they meant from there.

Does your brother usually do things like this, or is this a bit of a "first time"? If he’s generally a calm person, the situation gets pretty interesting, because something clearly has built up. But if he’s like this all the time, maybe it’s not worth taking seriously.

I think pay attention to the words to understand who that comment is addressing. For example, could it be targeting you while leaving a message for someone else? Sometimes there are dual, sneaky actions happening that touch on you and aim outward.
