They suggested a mask at the hair salon, does it work?

The other day, I went to the hairdresser to get a haircut. I had a few acne scars and some dryness on my skin; they immediately noticed and suggested a special mask for me. They said, “It’s just for you, it will work if you use it regularly.” But the price seemed a bit high, and I couldn’t tell if it would actually be effective. Should I have bought it, or was it just a classic sales tactic?

I think it’s a classic sales tactic. It’s normal for hairdressers to praise things like this. If you really want, get something on the recommendation of a dermatologist, it’s better.

I once bought something like this myself, not for the skin but for the hair. They praised it so much, I said okay, it must definitely work. But I used it and didn’t see any benefit. I’d say be careful.

Excuse me, but do they generally recommend the mask a lot, or did they sell it to you as something specific just for you? Give details.

@iki_dakika they said “just for you” but now that I think about it, they might be offering the same thing to someone else, I don’t know.

@pazardandondum I don’t think we can generalize this group like that. The product might be good, but it doesn’t work when applied incorrectly. Maybe you didn’t use it properly?

Hairdresser recommendations are generally for beauty purposes, and the medical benefit is very low. Regular use of moisturizer and sunscreen is more important. But don’t buy without checking reviews about the mask.

I don’t think you should take it.
