What did she think when she saw me while leaving the hairdresser?

I just left the hairdresser today, and my neighbor started talking to me when he saw me from across the street. I wonder if it was the color of my hair, the cut, or something else that caught his attention? Honestly, the fact that people judge me this much really upset me. How can I get over this situation?

Maybe you liked it? Why did you think of something bad right away?

I've experienced something similar, although not exactly the same. I had my hair cut short and dyed, and my neighbor said, "It's different." It lingered in my mind for three days. Maybe they just noticed and wanted to say something.

So, is your neighbor someone who constantly judges you, or do they generally behave normally? The meaning changes accordingly.

Usually it's always good, but she pays a lot of attention to details like this. My mom said, 'You're overreacting,' but I don't know 🙄

@yazipsildim, really, it's best not to deal with anyone. But I think people are more focused on showing off than on the topic owner in situations like this.

Honestly, I don’t think it’s worth stressing over these things so much. Everyone is free to live according to their own taste, no matter how much they talk, life is yours.

it's a common situation. this is actually related to selective perception. a change in hairstyle often becomes noticeable to people. you tend to feel it more when you're in a bad mood.

or you could have just asked your neighbor what they thought... at least it wouldn't be spinning around in your head.

Maybe you're trying to come up with an answer you're afraid to hear from him? Could that be the reason you're not asking directly? If you're going around in circles like this, the real issue isn't your hair anyway 😅

I think the issue is more about what you think than what your neighbor said. If you really didn't like your hair, could your neighbor's comment have just triggered that?

They might have said to try to make peace with yourself instead of asking the neighbor what they think, but the essential thing is your own self-confidence. When you think from a different perspective, communicating with a "perfect" frequency is not something everyone can do. The main issue is defining yourself by judging yourself through their perspective.
