Right now, I’m actually at peace with my job, but last week I interviewed with a place that offered me a salary that’s literally double. If I go to my boss and say there’s a situation like this, would it be inappropriate, or should I just quit immediately? I really don’t know, I mean, after all, it’s an economic period but on the other hand, I’m scared about being unhappy there. Do you think I should negotiate or should I just pull out without any hassle?

Thinking about whether it would be inappropriate to tell your boss when you have a job offer with double the salary is a mistake anyway; everything in professional life is negotiable. I suggest you don’t resign immediately, but try sitting down with your boss and see what happens.
