My period is 10 days late, and I'm afraid to see the doctor

Hey friends, my period has always been regular, but it’s 10 days late this month and nothing yet. I’m going through a stressful time, so I don’t know if that’s the reason or if there’s something serious going on. To be honest, I’m scared of the gynecologist; I’ve never been before. Do you think I should wait a little longer or should I gather my courage and go to the doctor?

Ten days is a serious amount of time for my daughter. If there’s a deviation from a regular menstrual cycle, it’s important not to brush it off. If she were my daughter, the first thing I would do is take her to the doctor. Don’t be afraid of gynecologists; they are quite gentle people, and your health is their job.

I experienced the same situation once, my mental health was seriously affected. Mine was due to stress, but you can never be sure. When I went to the doctor, I felt so relieved that they directly checked my abdomen with an ultrasound. I would recommend getting it checked.

I don’t think you need to worry right away about a 10-day delay. Maybe you’re stressing too much, and that could be causing your period to be delayed even more. I think you should wait a bit longer, then go see a doctor. Otherwise, you might be panicking for no reason.

Menstrual delays can be due to reasons such as stress, hormonal changes, or nutrition. However, deviations from a regular cycle can sometimes be a sign of conditions like thyroid issues or polycystic ovary syndrome. There’s no need to be afraid of the examination; they usually check with an ultrasound, and if necessary, hormone tests are conducted.

Thanks for your responses, friends. I took a test, and I’m not pregnant. So stress seems to be the most logical explanation, but I still haven’t gotten my period. I can’t ask the people around me, so I wanted to write here. I’m trying to get over my fear of the doctor.

You said you’re not pregnant, but have you gained a lot of weight recently or been on a diet or something? Those can also affect your menstrual cycle. Or how’s your sleep schedule? Sleep disorders can sometimes cause delays, too.

It’s interesting that there is suddenly a 10-day delay when everything was so organized. I think there might be something else going on apart from stress. For example, is there a medication you’ve been taking? Or maybe your exercise routine has changed. There definitely seems to be something else at play.

Sweetie, you can’t neglect things like this
