I cut my hair too short, now I regret it

I went to the hairdresser today and I have to admit that they cut 10 cm off without telling me. Now I feel really bad when I go out. What should I do in this situation? How long do you think I should wait for my hair to grow back?

if they did that to me, there would be a fight right away, how can they cut 10 cm without permission?

The rate of hair growth varies from person to person, but on average, it grows 1-1.5 cm per month. It is said that biotin supplements and regular trimming of the ends can accelerate growth.

Are you still going to the same hairdresser, or did you try a new place?

@kahvebitmeden it's a place I always go, but this isn't the first time, they had taken a bit too much before as well 😬

Then why are you still going to the same place? As long as you don't speak clearly, they'll always do that.

the same happened to me, it had gone 15 cm. you know, he said 'that's how the model turned out.' now I only get it cut while it's growing, no one else touches it.

"The 'hairdresser cut too much' headlines have become classic; it seems everyone experiences this. Explain before starting the style or go somewhere else, the solution to this problem is simple."

If I think the hairdresser is cutting based on their own preference, it means they've abandoned their profession for artistry. Before going elsewhere, I suggest clearly stating, "Cut this much," and have them visually confirm it. If they're still doing the same thing, good luck. But there's also the possibility that if you go to someone else, they may do an even worse job. These are risky endeavors.

I think we should also take a look at the hairstylist's communication style. Some people don't like to talk in detail and just say, "this is better" and move on. No matter how clearly you explain things, if they don't understand due to that stubborn sense of trust, it leads to the mistake of staying in the same place. Do you think that trust is worth it?

Hairdressers often try to impose a "vision," but it's your hair after all, not their art. If they're doing their own thing instead of satisfying you, it means they're not doing their job properly. So, how did you want your model to look? Are you completely dissatisfied with the current state?

Maybe it's not the hairdresser, but you're just overconfident. I mean, forget about the style; you weren't even satisfied with the length. Perhaps you convince yourself every time by saying, "it wasn't that bad"? Sometimes, a radical change is actually needed; maybe if you had tried a different style, this feeling wouldn't sting so much.
