My skin, which worsened during the pandemic, isn't recovering

During the pandemic, my skin literally went haywire; I got pimples on my cheeks from wearing a mask, and it might also be related to stress. I got some stuff from the pharmacy, but it didn’t help, and I’m not sure if constantly switching products is the right thing to do. Have you experienced this too? What do you recommend? Especially natural remedies would be helpful.

I have the same issue; I always get pimples along my jawline when I wear a mask. Especially when you wear it all day, and with a bit of stress added, your skin gets worse. In the evenings, after washing my face, I was using apple cider vinegar as a toner, which helped a bit; you might want to try it.

I officially fought a skin battle during the pandemic. I bought clay masks from herbalists and used them twice a week, and it really helped a lot. But after the clay mask, a good moisturizer is a must; otherwise, the skin gets worse.

I suggest seeing a dermatologist instead of switching products. Especially for acne from wearing masks, there’s something sold called “mask acne cream”; did you ask at the pharmacy? But unfortunately, constantly trying new products damages the skin barrier.

You said it was stress-related, but how intense is that stress? For example, has there been an increase in things like hair loss outside of the skin? Because if it’s stress-related, it’s a bit difficult to solve it just with external products.

I didn’t know there was such a thing as an acne mask; I had never come across it at the pharmacy either. Plus, there’s no hair loss, it’s just this issue with my skin. This clay mask sounds logical too, and I’m open to trying it since it’s natural.

In addition to acne masks, if your skin is irritated, you can also look for barrier-strengthening products, such as moisturizers with niacinamide in them. But as you mentioned, constantly changing products. You need to proceed gradually, observing your skin. You could even keep a skincare journal.

A clay mask is nice and all, but not everyone’s skin can handle it; for sensitive skin, it makes things worse for a lot of people. I think it’s unreasonable to apply it all over the face without testing it on a small area first.
