My girlfriend says "put up with it" but what will happen next?

My partner asked me to manage for a week or two recently. They've hit a financial snag but didn’t provide details. Honestly, I’m already struggling to save money, and now this situation has come up. I want to help because they are someone I love, but on the other hand, I'm worried about what will happen next. Will we get into a cycle like this? What do you think should be done in a situation like this?

my ex-boyfriend said something like this a couple of times too. at first I gave in, but then he kept up with these management things. in other words, if you start, similar things might come up more often, I would suggest being open.

So what does this "get by" amount actually mean? Is it something serious or just enough for 3-5 cups of coffee?

@camkenari didn’t give a specific amount, but I felt like he was thinking something like 2-3 thousand from his talk. It’s not small, you know 🥲

@soncaykaldi I think we shouldn't generalize like that, after all, not everyone is the same. Maybe it happened to the guy for the first time; saying it's a cycle might be unfair 😂

In matters of finances, I think if you don't have a written arrangement, you might encounter issues later on. Be clear, is this a one-time thing or ongoing? If it's a one-time payment, determine when they will repay it from the start to avoid any misunderstandings. 🤦‍♀️

It seems to me that there’s some irresponsibility in things like this, you know? SuddenlyWhy has there been a savings issue? Is it a lack of planning? 😮‍💨

I think the main question that needs to be asked is this: Do you want to give without planning on getting it back, or is this going to be a loan? Because if it's a loan, a clear date and plan are essential; otherwise, it's already a hassle from the start. If you don't expect it back, then also calculate the impact on your own budget, and act accordingly. 2-3 thousand is not a trivial amount.
