Yesterday, while talking to a mutual friend, I found out that my girlfriend blocked me on social media. We never fought, and there hasn’t been a major issue between us lately. We talk on the phone, but it’s as if I just disappeared from my social media accounts. I don’t want to ask why and make it a bigger issue, but isn’t this really strange? I’m experiencing something like this for the first time. What do you think this means?

7I experienced something similar; my partner blocked me on Twitter. At first, I thought it was a mistake or something, but it turns out they didn’t want to bother someone else in their stories. So they might be hiding something or have some odd reason for it. You need to talk to them to clarify things.
Doesn’t this affect your normal communication at all? Do you only communicate by phone or do you still have WhatsApp or something similar?
@kahvebitmeden Yes, we’re talking on WhatsApp. But they’ve completely blocked us on social media, so we can’t talk about stories or anything anymore… it’s a really absurd situation.
@biseydiycem don’t jump to conclusions right away. Maybe they genuinely don’t want to talk to someone or there’s an issue related to someone, it doesn’t necessarily have to involve their partner ![]()
Social media usage is seen as a serious tool for transparency in relationships; however, not everyone sees it this way. The intention and context are important when it comes to blocking; if there are no trust issues, it may not be significant on one hand. If it is related to other problems, you might try talking about it.
speak, pass.
These things don’t work in marriage, my daughter. Build a life where everyone is open with one another, at least transparent; if it’s like this before marriage, it will be torture afterwards.
