Losing followers on social media has really affected my mood

I’ve noticed something on Instagram lately: I’m losing a few followers every day. It’s really getting me down because I put a lot of effort into my content. Is it because of the algorithm, or did I post something that bothered people? Do you think it’s ridiculous to be so concerned about this, or is it normal? Is there anyone else who has experienced similar things, and has anyone found a solution?

I had the same situation a few weeks ago. People were constantly unfollowing, and I noticed a drop in engagement. It turns out the times of my posts were affecting it. You should try posting during the times you get the most interaction for a week; you might see a difference.

So I think instead of worrying about the algorithm, you should analyze the content. Look at the statistics within Instagram to see which posts got the most likes. Maybe you could focus on that kind of stuff.

To be honest, it’s a bit of people’s right to choose. If they decide to unfollow you, that’s their free choice. Just as you’re putting in effort, they can leave if they don’t want to see it. The main issue is not to take it personally.

Losses in follower count can generally be attributed to several reasons. Algorithm changes, bot cleanups, or users deactivating their accounts can lead to this. You can perform regular analysis to check for any misinformation or exaggerated sharing. If you suspect something more serious, consider consulting a social media advisor.

I’ve noticed that I had kept my last posts a bit more personal and emotional. Maybe that’s why some people have cooled off? I usually stick to the same theme, perhaps this change affected them. But of course, I’m not sure.

Honestly, it doesn’t seem like something to get upset about to me; there’s no point in worrying so much about what’s what. I mean, those that are suitable for you will stay, and those that aren’t will go. I think if you normalize it like this and keep moving forward, you’ll feel more at ease.
