I think the importance of first impressions is exaggerated. If the person in front of you is going to assess you based on your outfit, then there shouldn't even be a job.
If you're meeting at a café, wearing comfortable pants and a light blazer strikes the perfect balance. It creates a polished but not overly formal look.
The blazer is great, but what do you think about the shoes? Heels or sneakers? They change the whole vibe, you know.
