Should I use pads instead of tampons? What is my friend doing?

My friend doesn't want to use tampons during her period; she insists she's definitely going to use pads. I think tampons are more comfortable, but she keeps insisting with "the wings didn't open." Do you think this choice is healthy or just a fixation? It's difficult for me to talk to her about this.

Why didn't the wing open? I didn't understand.

Honestly, I don't think you can force someone into anything; if they want to use a pad, that's what they're comfortable with. Besides, pads don't carry the same infection risk as tampons, so their choice makes sense.

Has your friend ever tried a tampon? Did they feel uncomfortable?

my cousin was doing the same thing, I pressured her to try a tampon once and she felt very bad, and I regretted it. let her use whatever she wants.

I don't think @yazipsildim tried it, I guess they told a very old story about being heartbroken.

@kirmizikazak is the infection risk low? If the pad isn't used correctly in terms of hygiene, it can do the same thing. So there's not much difference.

@aklimkaldi did you mean it like that?? Either they installed it wrong or they might be exaggerating.

Using tampons is entirely a matter of habit, and if not inserted correctly, it can cause discomfort. In terms of infection risk, tampons should be changed every 4-8 hours, and keeping a pad on for too long is also incorrect; both can cause issues, but with proper use, they are safe.

I think it's pointless to think this much; whoever wants to use whatever they want, right? No one needs to force anyone.
