My period is 10 days late. At first my boyfriend didn’t care, but then he insisted that I get a test. The test came back negative, but I guess it wasn’t enough to reassure him. Now he’s literally pressuring me to go to a gynecologist. Honestly, I don’t want to go—I’m both scared and a little embarrassed. I told him that too, but he doesn’t understand at all. In this situation, should I see going to the gynecologist as something I pretty much have to do, or is it normal to wait a little longer?

5I think your partner has really made an effort. They’ve worked hard to get you to take the test, and now they’re insisting that you go to the doctor. Some people wouldn’t even think about getting tested. It seems like they care about your health, maybe you should consider that a bit. I understand your fears, but maybe they could go with you, so you’d feel more at ease.
So, did you do the tests, and did you do them with your morning urine? Because I understand that if it’s not done in the morning, it doesn’t give a definite result. Also, what exactly do they do at the doctor? If the baby is visible on the ultrasound, it seems like it’s understood right away. Is that true?
I already did it with morning urine, but it came back negative. I read that it doesn’t always show up on ultrasound immediately, and I don’t think it will go that far anyway. For now, they will probably just check why my period is delayed, I’m not sure.
@mesafe_emekci Honestly, I don’t know, it seems like her boyfriend is a bit overly panicky. She doesn’t seem like someone who just thinks about health. Maybe she wasn’t satisfied with the test, or was she suspicious of something else? For some reason, such pressure makes me feel there’s another intention behind it. What do you think?
The Reglin is 10 days late, you said the test was negative, but this alone doesn’t solve everything. The gynecologist will request a more comprehensive blood test to determine if there’s an issue with the uterus or something hormonal. Even if you don’t want to go now, don’t ignore it; if it doesn’t come for a while longer, you may have to go out of necessity. When choosing a doctor, you might prefer a female doctor, as you may feel more comfortable.
