I'm afraid of getting an ultrasound, my sister insists

I haven’t seen Reglim for 2 months, and my sister immediately found a gynecologist. The doctor is going to do an ultrasound, but I’m incredibly anxious. It’s going to be my first time for such an examination, and honestly, I don’t feel ready at all. My sister says, “your health is more important than anything,” but I’m still feeling tense. Do you think I should push myself, or should I give myself a bit more time?

I was really nervous when I went for my first ultrasound too. The doctor first calmed me down, explained everything, and then we started. So it’s not as scary as you think. As your sister said, health is important; there could be an issue, so it’s better to see it early.

Honestly, I don’t feel like I would be by your side. I mean, two months without your period is not a small thing; it seems a bit irresponsible. You need to put aside your fear of the doctor and take action, don’t you think? What are you waiting for?

Menstrual irregularities can sometimes stem from stress, hormonal imbalances, or other issues. An ultrasound is usually done externally; don’t worry that something has to be wrong inside. But you can’t know for sure what it is without seeing a doctor; these kinds of things shouldn’t be overlooked.

You’re right, my sister is pushing me to do this too because she found out she had a cyst last year at the last minute. She’s scared that I might have something like that too, but I still can’t relax

Have you ever experienced such a long absence of your period before? For instance, is there any other symptom accompanying it, like abdominal pain, weight gain or loss, etc.? If it keeps happening, it’s definitely important to get something checked.

I think you should go directly to the doctor, don’t drag it out any longer. If you trust the doctor your sister found, call and ask how the examination will go, and share your concerns. Talking things through beforehand can be a bit reassuring.

No one can deny that privacy is important. But we have to face certain fears when it comes to health. Your body is yours, but when making decisions, it’s important to be informed. The doctor won’t force you into an extreme intervention, that’s clear. I believe you shouldn’t compromise on your health.
