The economic situation is known, my salary isn't enough. I've been trying to create some side income for a while now but haven't found a complete solution. Some say open a boutique, others say offer online classes, etc. What are you doing in terms of side income? Are there really jobs that you can do from where you sit, or am I just wasting time?
I got into online teaching last year, but there's so much competition that prices have plummeted. If you’re offering English lessons or something, you’re struggling to find customers even at 50 lira an hour. If your expertise is something else, like teaching software, you might have an advantage, but it's tough just with general lessons.
Opening a boutique is very costly, don’t think of it as something you can do just sitting at home. I entered into it with a friend, and with both the materials and shipping costs, the profit margin has practically evaporated. Small handmade items like those on Etsy might work, but you need volume 😂
But here's the thing, it seems a bit dreamy to me that things will work out just by sitting where you are. Everyone I know who got into such work invested time and effort. If you're really looking for a solution, I think you shouldn't be this impatient, a bit of strategy is needed 🫢
There are some things you need to pay attention to when generating income. For example, the initial cost of starting the business, ensuring a continuous cash flow, and legal procedures. If you are going to sell products, you need a tax registration, and there are also platform commissions for online businesses. If you don't plan well, you will end up at a loss.
Let me also add that I'm not very keen on boutique-style businesses; because, like you said, they tend to have a lot of ups and downs. As for the online course, my field isn't very specific, that's what I've been thinking. But I have realized that I need to be patient in the meantime.
