Is a new skincare product worth the investment?

Guys, have you heard about this new “wonder serum” that everyone says is amazing? All the influencers are using it. But the price of a bottle is literally my weekly food budget. They especially claim it’s effective on acne scars. Do you think it really works, or is it just hype? If anyone has tried it, could you leave a comment?

I tried this, you know. All the influencers rave about it, and I couldn’t resist buying it. I didn’t notice much the first week, but I used it regularly for a month. I did see a slight fading of my acne scars, but it didn’t really have the effect of consistently going to skincare appointments. Plus, I think the smell is a bit too strong.

I don’t understand why you trust what influencers say so much. Maybe they’re exaggerating because they were paid? I think you should talk to a dermatologist first; you could find something more suitable and effective for half that price.

Honestly, most products like this “wonder serum” provide a quick boost to the skin barrier, but for a lasting change, long-term use of the right ingredients is more important. If your acne scars are deep, something containing vitamin C or niacinamide might be more appropriate. Don’t forget to read the ingredients list.

Thank you friends for the comments. Let me add this, my skin is sensitive and this serum says it’s paraben-free, but I haven’t examined the full ingredients yet. I wonder if it could cause any allergic reactions, so I’m actually a bit scared.

Honestly, it seems to me that some of these influencers who overdo it with this product are getting paid by the brand. Because if you pay attention, they all use the same phrases. “My skin literally became like a baby” and so on. I think not everyone would say the same thing without seeing the full truth.

I heard something like this before, that these serums for spots actually just exfoliate the upper skin. Then when you get used to it and stop using it, it gets darker and worse, they said. Is that true, I wonder? :slightly_smiling_face:

So I think everyone has bought it, and I want to try it too, but that price seems way too exaggerated to me. As a student, my budget is already tight. A friend of mine bought it once and said, ‘it has an average moisturizing effect.’ I don’t know if it’s worth that much.

I had a similar serum from a different brand, and my acne improved a bit after three or four weeks, but the spots didn’t completely disappear. I think you should try to find a tester first; if there’s no chance to test it, spending that much money directly is risky.
