A job opportunity abroad has come up, I want to resign

Things at work have officially turned into a nightmare; my manager keeps making vague insinuations, and I wonder what would be solved if I went to HR. Meanwhile, I’ve received a job offer from abroad with a good salary, but there’s a lot of uncertainty. What should I do? Should I take the risk or be patient?

Clearly, they are violating their boundaries there. The manager’s insinuation is also an outright use of power. It’s unacceptable for someone to disturb you like this while you’re trying to do your job. I think you should seize this opportunity; it could be the worst experience, but at least you won’t be subjected to the same psychological pressure as in your current place.

Things like this are very common in the business world, but it’s important that there isn’t an open conflict between you and your manager. Maybe that’s just their way of expressing themselves, but it has affected you. You mention uncertainty; it’s true that you might struggle at first abroad, but before you know it, you might feel much more comfortable. If the salary is good, I think it’s worth trying.

Could it be that you’re thinking a bit too emotionally here? Taking those insinuations personally might stem from sensitivities you have from the past. It’s clear that not everyone is satisfied with their manager. But just because you feel uncomfortable doesn’t mean every opportunity means “escape.”

When it comes to international job offers, the most important things are the work permit and job security. Have you researched the legal conditions there beforehand? The uncertainty you mention could partly be due to this because while a “good salary” is tempting, details like insurance and residency permits are very important. Also, are you ready for the adjustment process?

You’re right, my boss’s style affects me a lot because he always seems to be hinting at something. Maybe I’m exaggerating, but it’s starting to feel paranoid. My biggest hesitation about going abroad is losing my social circle. I’m worried about whether loneliness will be very tough.. :roll_eyes:
