Do you prefer tampons or pads for your menstrual period?

I’ve been using pads for a long time, but tampons seem more practical. Which one do you think is more sensible in terms of hygiene? Also, does it make a difference economically? If you have any experiences, could you share them?

I’ve been using tampons for years and they are especially comfortable when exercising. At first, I was a bit anxious about whether I would get an infection or something, but if you pay attention to cleanliness, there are no issues. I recommend you try one.

Since you already use pads, it feels like a habit, but a tampon really provides ease of movement. It’s something that makes a person feel lighter. However, economically, pads are cheaper, so I switch back and forth occasionally.

It’s nice that you think tampons are practical, but do you really pay attention to hygiene? If you’ve been using pads for so many years, switching to tampons could be risky.

Both are actually safe in terms of hygiene, but leaving a tampon in for too long can lead to serious infections, so you need to pay attention to the duration. It is recommended to change it every 4 to 6 hours. Especially the risk of TSS (toxic shock syndrome) is very rare, but don’t forget it.

I always preferred the cotton ones when using pads. Is there something like that in tampons as well? Also, for example, how does it work at the beach? Do they get affected by the water?

A tampon might be easy to use during the day, but how do you handle it at night? Doesn’t it get really difficult to keep getting up to change it? Should we maybe use it alternately?

If you’re going to use tampons, I recommend starting with the mini sizes first, and also suggest the ones with applicators for easier insertion. The first few days can be tough, but after that you’ll get the hang of it, so don’t be shy.

Using a tampon on the beach definitely saves lives. You might feel a bit strange sitting and standing up with a pad, but there’s no problem with a tampon. I was hesitant at first, but you get used to it.

I always use pads at night because it feels like I would constantly be uncomfortable with a tampon. But in the mornings, I feel the tampon less. Maybe you could try both ways alternately too.
