Girls, I’ve been using pads for years, but I’ve been thinking about trying tampons for the last few months. Sometimes pads are incredibly uncomfortable for me, especially in the summer. But I also have fears about tampons… I’ve heard they can be hard to insert. Do you think I should give it a try? Has anyone gotten used to them, or is there something you would say to definitely stay away from? I’m really confused.
I had tried it first in college, using pads in the summer heat of the dorm was literally torture. The tampon actually provides a lot of comfort, but at first, it’s a bit tricky to insert until you get used to it. I had watched a couple of videos on YouTube and then tried it; by the second or third time, it was working.
I think pads are definitely safer; they say there’s a high risk of infection when using tampons. In fact, if you forget it or something, there could be toxic shock syndrome, which can even put your life in danger. There’s really no need for stuff like that.
Actually, there is no danger in using the tampon itself correctly. If it stays in for a long time or if hygiene is not paid attention to, the risk of infection may increase, that’s true. But if you change it frequently and put in a clean one straight out of the package, you won’t have any issues. Toxic shock syndrome is also a very rare condition anyway, it’s not something that will happen to every user.
My fears were a bit related to these infection issues; I guess I need to pay a lot of attention to cleanliness. But I think it will be more comfortable in the summer than using pads because I literally feel uncomfortable even while sitting down. Let me also ask, can you really go swimming in the sea with a tampon? Is there a risk there too?
They say you can get into the sea, but honestly, I think it’s impossible. I mean, since the bumper goes inside anyway, I find it strange. Like, if water leaks inside when you’re in the sea… We shouldn’t be talking about stuff like this, but it doesn’t seem normal to me ![]()
