I use tampons all the time, but some of my friends argue that pads are healthier. They say tampons carry an infection risk, and honestly, I’m confused. Which one do you think is more hygienic and practical? Also, which one makes you feel more comfortable when you use it?
I usually use tampons too. Because I can’t be comfortable with pads; there’s always this feeling of wetness, which is really uncomfortable. But if you don’t change the tampon frequently, there might be a risk of infection, so you have to be careful.
If my daughter were mine, I would prefer her to use pads instead of tampons. It seems unhealthy to me for a tampon to stay in for a long time. If she changes her pad frequently without being lazy, it would be hygienic.
Actually, both have their own risks. Using a pad can also lead to a feeling of dampness, which can cause irritation. The infection risk you mention about tampons relates to Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS), but that’s very rare; if you change them every 6-8 hours, you should be fine. I think you should choose whichever you feel more comfortable with.
But why do you keep saying tampon? Is it out of necessity or habit? Maybe your friends are saying it because they care about you; why not try a little pad, what do you have to lose?
You keep saying you use pads all the time, for example, you must be using them when you go to the beach in the summer, right? But do you really use pads all the time in your daily life? I’m really curious.
I should also mention that I actually find using pads very practical in the summer, but I continued using them out of habit in the winter too. I feel very uncomfortable with the pad, and I panic thinking about whether it will leak or something.
Don’t trust tampons too much, honestly. They always recommended pads to us, and my mom would always say that. Sure, we’ve gotten used to modern things now, but putting something inside like that just doesn’t feel natural to me.
It seems like there’s an issue here that can’t be fixed. It’s either padding or bumping, just a simple matter of choice. But what I sense is that your friends might be a little envious of you. I think there are other issues behind the scenes.
