My period is late but there are no symptoms

I usually never miss my day, but today is the fourth day, and still nothing. I have neither pain in my breast nor cramps in my stomach, just an excessive discharge, that's all. I literally can't bring myself to take a test; I don't know if I'm scared to see a negative result or a positive one, to be honest. I'm unsure whether to wait a few more days or go get a blood test right away.
