Recently, my family, especially my mom, has been talking about how I should get married at every opportunity. I don't feel ready yet and I'm very undecided about it. Why are they putting such pressure on me?
I had a similar situation with my mom. When I was 27, she was seriously trying to get me married, but they just couldn't understand that I wasn't ready yet. It led to a strange cooling in our relationship that lasted for 2 years. The pressure is exhausting 😬
families are a bit right. as we get older, these things get harder. it's not our place to speak to our elders, just take care of yourselves.
@kahvebitmeden it seems like everyone has to get married just because they reach a certain age. Can't things be resolved through conversation instead of pressure?
it's best to be straightforward. just say you're not ready so your indecision won't be misunderstood. vague things create tension 😬

@pazardandondum I'm 28 years old and my mom keeps saying "let's be at the age to enjoy grandkids." They're literally pushing me according to their own plans 😂
@aklimkaldi the grandmother's comment about the grandchild was kind of expected, but it's really silly how she does it as if disregarding your decision. Wouldn't it be better if you talked about it instead of bringing it up in a way that could upset everyone?
