Akrabam constantly criticizes my social media life

Recently, a relative of mine has been constantly complaining about what I post on Instagram. They say things like, 'Sit like a lady, it's embarrassing.' It's really making me lose my interest in being so public. Do you think I should share less of my private life, or just not care and keep going?

I think you could try sharing less of your private life. This way, on Instagram, where everything is open, you won't be in a position to justify anything to anyone. If holiday photos or memories from outings with friends are kept private, both your relatives and you can feel more at ease 🫠

I think the best thing is to block directly and relax. Or you can open stories only to selected people; do that. This way, you can miss who has seen what.

But look now, what your relatives are saying is like a reminder of the once highly valued privacy. When you constantly expose your life to the public eye, perceptions change, and then you start wanting foreign eyes on your life. Just think about it.

This is actually a bit of a side effect of keeping you in mind. Sharing on social media liberates you when expressing yourself but opens you up to others. If the phrase 'sit like a lady' makes you feel pressured, it might be time to reassess your boundaries. It's important to be able to say, 'No, this is my choice.'

Let there be an update: do you know what she's actually criticizing? Sometimes I laugh a lot, for example in stories, or when I'm wearing a swimsuit on vacations, I already have a gloomy face. But I don't get the connection to the evil eye, she keeps talking about it.

If you're bothered by what Akraba said, I should ask very openly, have you ever sat down and talked one-on-one? I mean, was there a dialogue where you directly said, 'I'm uncomfortable, I don't want to learn that you feel this way'? 🫠

Saying "sit like a woman" is already a flawed approach. Your freedom is more valuable than her understanding of what is "shameful." There is no aspect of sharing your private life on social media that concerns others, and no one has the right to criticize you.
