Pain in my abdomen but my mom says not to go to the doctor

I've had a mild but constant pain in my lower abdomen for the past few days. It feels like menstrual cramps, but I'm not on my period. My mom says, "You've probably caught a chill, drink something warm and it will pass," but to be honest, I'm a bit concerned. Could these kinds of things be a sign of something serious? Do you think I should go to the doctor right away, or should I wait? What do you think?

You said it feels like period pain, but have you ever had such pain before other than during your period? Also, is the pain constant or does it come and go? Are you considering the possibility that it might be from a cold?

I think it's probably related to catching a cold because your mother said the same thing. But if the pain suddenly sharpens or is severe, it could be something different. In that case, I would suggest seeing a doctor.

I don't understand, why doesn't your mom want you to go to the doctor? Could she be hiding something? Or is she being too laid-back about it?

As a guy looking from this perspective, your mom probably sees this situation as something everyday. Women might think they know their bodies better, so maybe your concern seems a bit exaggerated to her 🙄

It wouldn't hurt for my daughter to see a proper doctor. If it were my daughter, I would take her right away. Tell your mother this: 'It's good to take precautions, we shouldn't neglect it.'

Let me add that the pain is not fixed in one spot; it feels like it's shifting a bit. It didn't go away right away with some warming up. My mom is still insisting that I drink hot tea. I'm at a loss about what to do.

Abdominal pain can be caused by something as simple as a cold, but it could also indicate a more serious issue. If it doesn't go away within a few days or if additional symptoms such as nausea or fever develop, it is essential to see a doctor. Especially, persistent pain in the lower abdomen should not be ignored.

Well, now you’re saying this pain isn’t at a fixed point, which is a bit concerning. Don’t rely too much on your mom; maybe she’s acting relaxed because she went through something like this in her youth, but still, don’t neglect it. Should you consult someone else too?

So you should take what your mom says seriously, but in the end, it's your body, and if you feel uncomfortable, you should see a doctor. I think you should be more persistent when talking to your mom about this.
