My mother is already prejudiced against my boyfriend's family

my mom used to say similar things about my boyfriend's family in the past. usually, this "they're not right for you" issue points to cultural differences as well as material concerns; maybe for your mom, it's just an excuse. but it won't get resolved until we sit down and talk it out properly.
