My friend wants to try using a tampon for the first time!

My friend is considering using a tampon for the first time during her period, but she’s very anxious. Should she definitely go for it or stick with pads? I don’t know, but she seems scared. What do those who have tried it think?

there’s nothing to be afraid of like this

I was very scared at first too, you can’t understand without trying. It might be difficult to place the first time, but you get used to it over time.

How old is your friend? Has he/she ever talked to a doctor about this?

@yazipsildim is 22 years old, and this will be their first attempt. They haven’t consulted a doctor but have gotten some information from a pharmacist.

If they are afraid that something will go wrong, then why do they insist on using a tampon? They can just stick with pads; if they’re comfortable, there’s no need for it.

@pazardandondum because sometimes you want to be more practical, especially if you’re exercising or going into a pool or something. Why are you stressing over something so simple?

She should try using a tampon with an applicator; it’s easier at first. If that doesn’t work, she can ask her mom or someone else; she doesn’t have to feel alone

When I first used it, I also did a few trials and made some mistakes in putting it on. You don’t need to stress too much about it; your body gets used to it anyway.

Follow the usage guide, pay attention to hygiene, and change it every 4-6 hours. If you experience excessive discomfort, consult a doctor. Everyone’s body may not respond the same way.
