I want to get a nose job but my mom won't change her mind

I’ve been complaining about my nose for a long time; it’s not small, but it looks flat. If it were a bit more uplifted, it would completely change my face, I’m sure of it. I’ve been researching for a while, found a doctor, and more or less figured out the budget. But my mom is totally against any intervention on my nose. She keeps saying, ‘You’re naturally beautiful, why are you messing with yourself? Be grateful for what God has given you.’ To be honest, I would be really stressed without her approval, but I also want this change. Have you experienced such pressures in your circle? What should I do?

I also got it done, I swear I hated my nose and waited 10 years. My mom was initially against it, but after the surgery, her opinion changed completely. Now she says, ‘I’m glad you did it.’ I think no one should spend years without getting it done.

How old are you by the way, are you still looking for your mom’s approval?

@iki_dakika I’m 23 years old, but we still live in the same house. To be honest, I get really tense because I think he will react a lot.

@makarnaoncesi you are exaggerating the part “when you get it done everyone gets used to it.” If the mother doesn’t want it, there will definitely be some coldness, and her relationship with her family may deteriorate.

From a technical perspective, surgery and the aftermath are not simple matters. There is always the risk of bleeding, infection, etc. Choosing the right doctor is crucial. Setting aside the issue of convincing the family, you need to enter into this both physically and psychologically strong.

If you’re really sure about your doctor choice, let the rest go because you’ll carry it for a lifetime. At some point, it stops being disrespectful to your mother.

@kirmizikazak don’t be so dramatic, if it’s going to be ruined because of the nose surgery, there was already a big problem from the start. Even if they’ve spoken clearly, they’ll get used to it.

Motherhood is a bit like that, it’s tough but you get used to it.
