I'm dressing on a budget, but can't I look cool?

I can't compete with the expensive outfits of the brands, so I'm buying affordable pieces to put together outfits while there are discounts available. But the people around me either find it exaggerated or look at me like I'm not stylish enough. The other day, my friends also teased me quite a bit about picking clothes. Is there anyone among us who believes in dressing stylishly while being budget-friendly? How do you deal with these comments?

You mentioned you're getting pieces from the ready-made discounts; I think the main issue might be with the combinations. Sometimes, pieces are chosen that don't match, even if they’re labeled as cheap. Affordable yet quality basics are always a lifesaver; you can always dress them up with accessories 😂

You can dress cheaply and look stylish, I manage to do it. But it takes a bit of talent. There are budget-friendly outfit ideas on Pinterest that you can copy from. Be sure to check the fabrics too, avoid synthetics.

If you think everyone is exaggerating or lacks style, maybe the real issue lies with your choices. I'd say take the criticism of "You're choosing pretty basic outfits" seriously; some pieces can be quite an eyesore for people 🙄.

The key to budget management is 'multifunctionality.' Can you use one skirt in 3 different styles? If you choose a piece that only works for one outfit, you risk unnecessary spending. Perhaps the criticism you hear from those around you is based on this 🤔

I also want to add that sometimes I buy pieces that are considered expensive, but it's interesting because I don't conform to what others do. I really don't want to be a copycat.

I think your friends' comments stem from the fact that you're not really dressing up a lot, but rather that you're somehow making them uncomfortable. So, either your clothes are of a different style, or you're unconsciously critical of their way of dressing.
