Trousers or skirt: which one draws more attention at work?

I have a job interview next week, and I want to create an outfit that's a bit classic but also shows off my style. I'm torn between two options: fitted pants and a white shirt, or a midi-length comfortable skirt and a lightweight sweater? I want to make a good impression while also being bold, but my budget is limited. Which do you think would leave a better impression?

My brother said, "a white shirt with tight pants makes you look like a banker," the other day, but I think it totally depends on your posture. It's neither too classic nor too casual; you need to find a balance. A skirt might leave a more subdued impression.

A pair of trousers and a white shirt is a safer combination. It looks neat for a job interview and makes you feel good. However, when choosing trousers, I would recommend looking for those that are slightly loose-fitting rather than very tight.

I read in an article that wearing tight pants makes you look more confident in meetings. Everyone does it anyway. I'm not saying it's all true, but it does have an effect.

I see a lot of combinations like this on TikTok; I think you should sort out the sweater or blazer jacket thing. Skirts seem a bit too soft to me; the work environment isn't as colorful as it appears on social media 🤦‍♀️

That's old news now; there's no such thing as skinny jeans making you look confident. What matters is wearing clothes that fit your body and having a clean appearance. The focus of the interview should be on your skills, not your outfit.

Why are you so obsessed with labels like polite or assertive? Show your own style, and it's also important whether the company can accept you based on that. Women are already judged too much on their appearance in job interviews, so choose outfits that will break this cycle 😬

Update: Actually, the meeting is at a corporate company, but it's not too formal either. Pants seem more sensible, but I also love the vibe of the skirt. I guess I will evaluate the pieces I have.

Anne was right, a skirt is always more elegant. A feminine stance is very important in job interviews. Pants are nice but can become a bit too casual, especially when paired with a simple white shirt.
