I had been bothered by my cheeks for a long time, so I got fillers at a clinic. I feel better about myself in the mirror, but honestly, my husband is not very fond of such things. Should I tell him, or should I just continue without him noticing? I’m literally torn.

6I had lip fillers done at one point too, but I didn’t tell my wife. As you said, it’s hard to notice, so it never came up. If you’re not feeling uncomfortable, I don’t think there’s any problem in not mentioning it.
think of this as a relationship dynamic. Being open with your partner can build trust, but since this is an individual decision, it’s also normal to maintain your boundaries. Before confiding in your spouse, assess their general attitudes and consider why they might think that way ![]()
But for example, would you have liked it if they did something without your knowledge? I think this is a bit like deceiving ourselves to justify our actions. You should have been transparent with your partner from the beginning.
Thank you for the comments. I’ll add that I’m actually really scared the filling will be noticeable. My friends said, ‘you won’t notice when it fits perfectly,’ but my spouse is very detail-oriented. That’s why maybe it will be harder for them to explain ![]()
Do you generally tell your spouse everything? Or is this just an exception for this situation? If there is usually openness, this could be a different situation.
This is your body and your decision. It’s perfectly normal to want to have some control over your own life. Your partner’s opinion may be important, of course, but it’s not more important than your freedom. Women shouldn’t have to make decisions just to please others.
