My wedding dress has reached my mother

@kahvebitmeden hasn't seen it yet, just from what my cousin has told me. Even if I show it to them, they seem like they might resist, but I don't know if I should try.

@makarnaoncesi so now you're saying you "have to wear it" but if all hell breaks loose at the wedding, who will take the responsibility? I don't care what others say, but sometimes clashing with family is exhausting.

In such a situation, it's important to maintain your individual preferences while staying in touch with your family. You could show the dress to your mother by trying it on at some point and explaining calmly why you like it. Honestly, many times a visual presentation can break down resistance. But of course, if your mother's attitude is too firm, you might feel uncomfortable, and an alternative plan may be necessary.

Why did you start off with "What’s up? Haven't you told your mom?" You came in pretty strong with that title. Question how much you actually feel the need to explain it to your mom.

@soncaykaldi you don't always have to be in harmony with your family; you need to learn to protect your individual space as well. Even if all hell breaks loose, that's their reactiveness, not your fault.
