@uykuarasi you said it’s “just a simple thing,” but not everyone may be as open-minded as you. If someone brings this up at a wedding, it could blow up into a big deal. Even the mother-in-law noticed, clearly your brother was embarrassed 
To perceive such situations more calmly, you can remind your brother that he doesn’t have to explain himself to anyone. After all, it’s a personal matter and most likely, no one will keep it in their mind. He might also be worried about how his mother-in-law will perceive him, but these kinds of things happen with a new bride; talk it out and reassure him.
