I got microblading in Kaş, my husband laughed at me, don’t you think I’m being treated unfairly?

Friends, I had been thinking about getting microblading for my eyebrows for a long time, and I finally did it. When I left the salon, my husband joked, ‘Did they wipe your eyebrows and stick them on?’ I felt like I had done something wrong, but I really liked it. Do you think that comment is normal, or did he go a bit too far?

‘Did they really glue on their eyebrows?’ I wasn’t sure if that was normal to say, but something similar happened to me too. Last month, I got eyelash extensions, and my husband asked, ‘Are you going to send a bird flying with that?’ I laughed it off, but then I thought, we are doing something with good intentions, and when they make jokes like that, it gets confusing.

I think the issue isn’t with the eyebrows, but rather with the way your wife comments. I mean, nobody just makes fun out of the blue by asking ‘Did they do it?’ Maybe she doesn’t really approve of the microblading thing? Or perhaps there was a conversation about this before, and she’s secretly uncomfortable?

Microblading results stay on your face for a long time, and even if your partner’s comment was a rough joke, they might just be a bit taken aback because they aren’t used to it. It’s entirely your decision, but if you felt a bit uncomfortable inside, make sure to take good care of your aftercare for any small adjustments. How neat it looks also depends a bit on your attention.

That girl said the same thing when I got my boyfriend to say it looked ‘like LEGO’ when I did it. We laugh about it, but why are they mocking something that makes us feel good? For example, that day I sent a snap and checked my friends’ comments, and they were all raving about it. I think that’s where you get the necessary confidence from.

Comments like this in relationships usually stem from communication errors. If you know your partner well, you can assume there is no ill intent behind the joke. However, criticisms of physical changes are a sensitive topic, and expressing that you feel uncomfortable using humor can help keep your relationship healthier.

So did your partner make jokes about your appearance before? Or did it start after the eyebrow incident? If similar things happen often, you might need to have a serious conversation with them.

Let me add, it wasn’t actually out of bad intentions, but my morale suddenly dropped. You go with courage to do it, but then you get a comment like this when you get home… Anyway, I guess I’m slowly starting to get used to it. I hope my eyebrows will look nice to my wife once they settle :smiling_face_with_tear:

My daughter, a person feels beautiful by appreciating themselves, but that doesn’t mean your partner has the right to mock you. If you were my daughter, I would tell you how much I love you, but if someone starts to make you doubt yourself, I would sit down and have a talk with you. No one should say anything about your eyebrows.
