My spouse changed the password on their phone, should I trust them?

For the past few weeks, he had been acting distant while commuting to work, but I didn't say anything... Last night, I noticed that he had changed the password on his phone, which is something he never does. When I asked, he said it was 'work-related', but I can't shake this feeling that something is wrong, or am I overreacting? How do you think I should approach this?

My husband had changed his password at one point as well. I was suspicious like you, but it turned out to be a procedure related to his work phone. So such things don't necessarily mean cheating right away. I think you should try to stay a bit calmer.

Changing the phone password alone may not be a red flag. But you’ve already pointed out distant behaviors, which is important. Having a compatible and honest conversation with your partner is generally the best way to address such situations. Can you both express your feelings openly to each other? It's worth checking.

Wouldn't it be better to just go and have an open conversation with your partner instead of asking it here? Changing a password is quite personal; I don't think it's a matter that needs to be blown out of proportion. Sometimes people just want to protect their own space, that's all.

Let me add that normally, we wouldn't have things like this between us. We always knew the passwords and all that. I might be a bit too detail-oriented, so maybe I'm being too hard on myself, but it's still an unusual situation 😂

What kind of logic is this? Just because a person changed their password, do we immediately jump to ideas of distance and deception? I think we should all relax a bit; being constantly monitored is not a good thing for anyone.

This issue isn't as simple as having a 'phone password.' How are the boundaries and trust balance in your relationship? You already said you knew his passwords, so why does needing this feel so much more pressing now? Is it a desire to control him, or do you feel worthless? Reflect on your emotions and act accordingly.
