I'm not talking to my spouse, should I consider divorce?

Lately, my husband and I can hardly talk at all. He comes home from work, eats, and goes straight to the TV. I literally feel alone at home. I've tried to share something so many times, but either he brushes it off or doesn’t listen at all. This indifference is unbearable... Do you think this is normal? Or should I be considering separation?

They said exactly this to me: 'I talk all day, do I also have to talk to you?' They do that and then suddenly explode. That's why I think you should talk seriously, but not harshly. Maybe they don't realize how much they've made you feel so alone.

Your spouse's excuse about being tired may be real, but in a healthy relationship, ways to deal with that fatigue should be discussed. Marriage counselors are there for one-on-one help to resolve such communication issues. I would say to speak clearly and suggest getting help from a specialist together.

Actually, I said several times, "We can't go on like this, I feel lonely," and all that. But he kept brushing it off by saying, "Just deal with it, I'm busy these days." Nothing changed at all, so I don't know what else I can say.

I can't believe people are so quick to say 'just get a divorce.' You have a history with this guy, so it's not easy to just cut ties. But I think you're also going a bit too easy on him. You need to be clearer about your stance 😬

But how long has it been like this, for example? Is it something new, or has it been gradually this way since you got married? Is there extra pressure at work or has it always been like this?

I've been through the same thing; my spouse was very distant for a while. We didn't really talk for two months. Finally, one evening I hit the table in frustration and said, 'Is there a problem? What can I do if you don't tell me?' We're better now, but it was a struggle to get our communication back on track.

Oh come on, I don't understand topics like this. You say your spouse is always tired, but clearly, this is something that emotionally drains you too. Which side is being 'overly' bent here? I think that's a whole different issue 😬
