Should I share the message from my ex, or keep it to myself?

I have a beautiful relationship with my current partner, but recently I received an apology and a message of regret from my ex. Should I tell my current partner about this situation, or would it be better to ignore it? I’m afraid of making a big deal out of it, but hiding it feels like a kind of lie. I’m really confused; what would you do?

I think you should talk to your current partner right now. Everything from your ex needs to be discussed openly to avoid misunderstandings. Show the direct message as it is; hiding it will lead to worse outcomes.

So why would you bring something like this up now? I don’t think it’s necessary at all. Your ex’s message concerns you, not your partner. Bringing this into your current relationship will seriously disturb your peace. Act like it never happened and let it go.

The main issue here is what will happen to the trust between you and your partner when you keep or say that message. Honesty is important, but on the other hand, you should also consider your partner’s reaction. If they are someone who might overreact and get unnecessarily jealous, you need to explain in a balanced way.

Let me update: The message only contained an apology, nothing like I still feel my love. But my girlfriend is a very jealous person, so I’m a bit scared to tell her.

An ex’s regret message might be an attempt to manipulate you emotionally. Don’t suppress it because such things teach you to set boundaries and maintain transparency in your relationship. Being honest is your strength.
