I’ve been doing design work from home for a while now, and I’m actually making good money, but my mom comes over every day and says, “You’re just sitting around at home, do this cleaning, do that cooking,” so they literally think I’m unemployed because I don’t have a regular job. She doesn’t want me to spend my money on myself, and my dad expects me to contribute to the household. If I say anything, I feel guilty. Is freelance work a crime or something? I just don’t get it.

1I experienced the same thing; my mom would literally hand me the broom while I was designing. They treat me like a housewife because they think I don’t have a job, I swear. They finally shut up when I showed them my last high payment
