My partner keeps asking, 'Is there something you're not telling me?' Is this normal?

I’ve been talking to someone for a few weeks. Our conversations are nice, but they keep implying that I’m “hiding something.” However, I’m being completely open, meaning I have no secrets. I wonder if this is their way of testing me or if they’re just suspicious themselves? Do you think this is a normal situation? What should I do?

So when did this skeptical attitude begin? Was he more relaxed at first, or has he always been this way? It might be a matter of insecurity stemming from previous relationships.

Men often find it hard to trust. Maybe there’s a fear stemming from their own past; they might have been cheated on or faced lies. I think you can ask this openly

If this is how it starts, the end will be difficult. You say you’re being honest, but what if she doesn’t know how to trust? If she were my daughter, I would say don’t let someone like that into your life from the beginning.

This feels a bit like she’s constantly watching stories or something. She’s completely creating this in her own head. I think she needs to lighten up on this a bit during the flirting process. I would suggest not to worry about it.

I think thinking that this guy is hiding something might actually be a sign that he has something to hide himself. I suggest you question him a bit

This kind of behavior usually stems from the other person’s trust issues. Relationship experts say that in such situations, the individual needs to confront themselves first. You can express to them that you think their doubts are not about you.

Let me add that, actually, there was never any discussion between us. I mean, I’m calmly saying ‘I’m not hiding anything’ and all, but this time, they act like they believe me. Maybe as you said, there’s something from their past.

I think you should just bring this up directly. Ask openly, ‘You keep implying things like this, do you have a problem?’ Sometimes it’s that simple. I mean, you can’t always be worried about making someone comfortable :slightly_smiling_face:

There’s also the fact that now everyone in society thinks they have the right to question everything under the guise of being open. Maybe your openness leaves a question mark in their mind, wondering ‘is it really like this?’ Try to set some boundaries too.
