My date sent my meatball back, I was embarrassed

We went out for our first date. I ordered meatballs, but they came out a bit undercooked. Without me saying anything, my date turned to the waiter and said, ‘Take this back and cook it properly.’ I was so surprised that I couldn’t speak. I usually never get involved in stuff like this; to be honest, I was embarrassed. Do you think I’m overreacting, or is this action inappropriate?

I don’t think there’s any problem with it. Someone I met once did the same thing, and I was actually pleased. Maybe they did it to make you comfortable, but it was a bit bold for a first date, of course.

How old are you? This partly reflects your personality, but it could also be your upbringing. Have there been any other intrusive behaviors?

@uykuarasi 29, we went outside for the first time. He’s not normally like this, but at that moment it felt like a strange display of power to me.

@makarnaoncesi come on, I guess you’re the only one who’s satisfied. Isn’t it a bad look to talk to the waiter like that? You can’t just use everything as an excuse to unwind.

In first meetings, such things give an idea about a person’s social intelligence. Pay attention to how they talk to the waiter; they may reflect the same style back to you later. If not, they might just be someone who is used to defending their rights.

@soncaykaldi it’s not such a big deal. After all, bad food was provided, and she just wanted it to be corrected. Why are you reading bad intentions into this?
