My content is being stolen, should I report it? Or is it even worth it?

I've been sharing content as a small page for a while now, but recently other accounts have started taking my ideas and posting them verbatim. My friends say to "report it," but honestly, I'm not sure if it's worth the effort. If I had grown from copied content, I would be ashamed; how do these people live with themselves?

I think these guys can't even get quoting right. If the idea is yours, they really need to credit you ethically. But, you know, some people prefer to grow the easy way. I once messaged them through DM to warn them, but most just get scared and take it down anyway 😅

no, believe me, a similar situation happened to me. I was shocked when I literally saw my own writing in the notification in the morning. That feeling of discouragement is indescribable. If you want to seek your rights, first take screenshots, because date and time are important. Then you can file a complaint 🥲

But there is also this: it is somewhat natural to be inspired by social media or to share similar content. You're saying they have copied someone's ideas directly, but maybe it's a very fundamental topic that has inspired them. Not everyone is a thief after all.

Legally, if the content is an original idea product and has been used without your permission, this could constitute copyright infringement. But evidence is needed for this: screenshots, sharing dates, etc. You can file a complaint, but if you want to follow a clear path, it's advisable to consult a specialist.

Now I understand that it's not just taking, but also not adding anything that is disturbing. They are sharing the same thing without touching my writing. There's not even a tag. I told my friend, and he says to "just send a message to take it down." But I don't know if that will work.

If you're that angry, just fill out Instagram's copyright complaint section. Provide evidence, they'll take it down in a few days. It's like blocking someone; they won't mess with you again so easily.

To be able to steal someone else's labor and say "what's the big deal" takes quite a bit of audacity. This is entirely a matter of consent. You put effort into this content, no one can use it without approval. They can say they were inspired all night, but that's still stealing.

My daughter is clearly being bothered. If she were my daughter, I would tell her: if you're right, follow through to the end. But as you deal with them, your energy also dwindles. Maybe it's best to let it go a bit; growing with your own humanity is more precious.
