How often did you take these tests? They can come back negative if done too early because

if you haven’t missed your period yet, it makes sense to wait and take the test again later. If your period is delayed, get a blood test from the doctor for a definitive result.
I think you’re overthinking it; just wait a little longer and see 
What times did you do the tests? If you don’t do it with the first urine in the morning, it may not give an accurate result. Also, if the test brands are different, one may be more sensitive than the other. If your period is late, you should definitely see a doctor.
