Someone shared my old stories on Instagram, what should I do?

A long time ago, the things I shared as stories suddenly appeared in someone else's reels. It feels like they've really dug into my profile and taken screenshots... It doesn't include any particularly private details or family memories, but I'm still bothered. I don't know what to do right now. Has anyone experienced this? Should I report it directly, or would it be better to ignore it?

Once, I was tagged by an account I didn't recognize, and when I checked, they had turned an old photo I shared into a story. I reported it immediately and it got taken down; I didn't bother with it. I think you shouldn’t overthink it, just get it removed before it causes you trouble 😬

This is such a weird situation... Who screenshots your old stories and why, that's honestly a bit creepy. I think if that account is private, they might have sent a follow request or something? You should check that too.

But look at it this way: when you shared that story back in the day, everyone could already see it. So why are you upset now? We're actually setting this up for ourselves a bit too. If we put every special detail out there on the internet, this is inevitable.

This situation could actually fall under the legal scope of 'unauthorized use of personal data.' You can report the video; Instagram is quite sensitive about this now. But if they didn't specifically use personal information, it might be a bit difficult to get results.

I later realized that this account seems to have collected a lot of old stories from users. It has created quite an archive. I thought about reaching out, but I decided against it because if they're malicious, it could bring me trouble 😬

Let me be very clear, this is partly about what kind of person you are. For example, it bothers me when someone who doesn't know me shares a photo of me with my family, but some people in society say, 'what's the big deal?' Everything seems a bit too relaxed now, it's becoming normal.
