I canceled my gynecologist appointment three times, I'm very scared

Hey girls, I have a serious menstrual irregularity, but I can't muster the courage to go to the gynecologist. I make an appointment, then panic and cancel it. What I'm curious about is: is there really something to be afraid of? Could you share your first examination experiences? I want to feel a bit more at ease.

I had the same thing happen; I canceled my first appointment for days. But when I went, the doctor turned out to be really chill, so I didn't feel tense at all. We just started talking at first anyway. I don't think there's anything to be afraid of, just go when it's your turn.

But as you keep canceling like this, the problem may progress. You've mentioned that checking is essential, so why don't you go ahead and start it? I don't want to scare you, but no one can take better care of your health than you can 😅

Gynecologists first take a look with an ultrasound regarding irregular menstruation. Self-enlargement doesn’t typically start with a very painful intervention. Maybe a hormone test is needed, which are also non-invasive things.

Actually, the issue is not just physical; the feeling of privacy is a bit difficult too. Plus, I'm curious about what they'll ask on the first date and how the process will go. Knowing these would help me 😐

I don't know if it's true, but I've heard that at the first check-up, they do a direct examination before the ultrasound. They said it's completely vaginal, so I got scared.
