The hairdresser cut my hair too short, should I have screamed?

I'm really indecisive, I told the hairdresser to take a little off the ends last week, but she literally made it super short. I mean, it has nothing to do with the style I wanted. I might have cried when I got home. How do you react in situations like this? Does it get worse the more you stay silent?

My daughter, I experienced the same thing last month; mine was cut off abruptly too. When you don't say anything there, it's too late. React immediately, you don't have to endure it.

It happened to me too. I was younger back then, and I didn't say a word. But later I learned that hairdressers cut more comfortably the more you stay quiet. You should just say, 'this isn't right.'

But you clearly said "take from the ends" here. Are you sure you're talking about the model or the length? They might have thought you meant "make it short."

Consent is very important in hairdressing services. If a procedure other than the model you requested was performed, you have the right to apply to the consumer arbitration board. But first, reach out and request a solution.

Let me add that I actually showed a photo beforehand. But they said something like, "It can't be like this; yours looks neglected." I didn't insist, and I think that's where my mistake started. 🫢

There is a clear boundary being crossed here. Despite your explicit statement, the hairdresser did what they wanted. An employee cannot have a say over someone else's body without permission. You could have easily reacted.

But I think something else happened there. For example, did she want to use the state of her hair as an excuse to cut a model she preferred? If she's the type of hairdresser who gets too involved, this can be quite common.

So, did you suggest going back later to fix it? For example, did you say something like, "It was short, but maybe you can shape it properly?" 🙂
