The hairdresser shortened my hair for summer

Yesterday I went to the hairdresser and asked for my split ends to be trimmed. I had a model I showed before sitting down; I wanted it to be straighter, slightly layered but still long. She washed my hair, marked the length she would cut, but when the process was done and I saw myself in the mirror, there was no model at all, it was just cut straight and short! She told me, ‘But it’ll be more comfortable in the summer with it short,’ as if she was asking for permission. Now I can’t go out without wearing a hat. I just don’t get why such things are done without asking. Have you ever had something like this happen to you?

Same thing happened to me! The one time I went to a hairdresser, they cut my hair like a puzzle, and now they act like they don’t even remember the style I wanted. But I really caused a scene, didn’t pay anything either. I wish you had reacted right away too.

Has this hairdresser done something like this for the first time? Or does he/she always act on a whim?

@gizem34 it’s actually not her first time doing this, she had previously made the paint too dark but I managed to cope. I can’t stand it anymore.

@melis98 it’s not about not paying so easily, dear, after all they put in the effort. But of course, if you’re right, it needs to be addressed properly :upside_down_face:

It’s common for hairdressers to cut in a way that is ‘suitable for summer’ or ‘according to their own idea.’ However, if you’ve specified a style and that style hasn’t been done, I recommend discussing it in more detail for your next appointment and even proceeding with a trial cut method. In the meantime, it’s your right to request a correction for something you didn’t want.

@buketstil you said a “proof cut,” but which hair salon does that in our country? They’re just trying to get rid of you until you sit down.
