I’m really down today. I went to the hairdresser to dye my hair and get 2 cm trimmed off the ends. They literally cut my hair, which was down to my shoulders, super short! I couldn’t even say anything, I mean, once it’s cut, it can’t grow back right away… Now everyone will notice and say, “What did you do to your hair?” I’m feeling really bad. How do you cope when you go through something like this? What do you do?

7I haven’t experienced this, but it happened to a friend of mine. Even though she said “take off 2 cm,” they ended up cutting it quite short and adding layers. Then she went straight to another hairdresser to get it fixed, but it’s just that initial shock 
Well, everyone blames the hairdresser here, but I think you’ve been a bit vague too. Saying “take off the ends” is too abstract; it needs to be clearly explained in centimeters.
Why did this hairdresser do such a thing to you? Is it the first time you’ve gone, or is it someone you knew before? Because there’s a vibe that suggests it was done intentionally.
@kahvebitmeden isn’t actually doing this for the first time; they had taken a bit too much in the other part as well, but I hadn’t noticed it that much. I had trusted them and gone.
I understand how you feel. It’s like when you wake up in the morning and look in the mirror thinking, ‘Who is this?’ You don’t see yourself for a while. But there are many styles at shoulder length; you can manage it.
Actually, there should be constant communication with the customer during the cuts. Trained hairdressers usually get frequent approval from the customer using a mirror, but it seems this wasn’t done. In this case, you can go to another hairdresser and request thin layers or styling if you wish.
I think you should change that hairdresser.
