I think you should just say it directly; marriage is a serious matter after all. Staying silent to avoid upsetting your cousin would be worse, and they would be even more devastated when they find out later.

So who is this girl? Is she someone from the past, a friend, or a romantic interest? If there’s a picture of you hugging directly, it’s risky to talk about it without clearing that up first. Also, make sure your cousin doesn’t find out, so there are no tensions.
