My sister put my pads in the guest bathroom because there wasnât any space in the bathroom cabinet. One of our family friends saw them when they opened the cabinet yesterday. They winked at my mom and asked, âAre these here?â My mom brushed it off a bit flustered, but I was really embarrassed. Do you think itâs worth making a big deal out of it or am I being too sensitive?

9This same thing happened to me last year. I had put it in the guest bathroom, and my friendâs mom saw it. She told another friend, and it turned into quite a bit of gossip. I was really embarrassed, but thinking about it, itâs just a pad, after all, a necessity. I think you shouldnât worry about it, itâs not a big deal.
Why did your mom feel the need to explain to the guest? I mean, thereâs nothing to be ashamed of, why should she respond upset?
@gamze34 My mom is a bit sensitive about these things. That guest is the type to stick their nose into everything anyway. I think my mom got tense because she knew he would make a snide remark ![]()
@hilalcik So what, should we just brush it off saying itâs normal for there to be gossip? After all, people should be careful in their surroundings. Itâs the guest bathroom, after all.
Feeling embarrassed in such situations is normal, but itâs important to emphasize: basic hygiene products like pads shouldnât be so taboo. The sensitive guest carries their own prejudices rather than judging you. As an adult, thereâs no need to feel guilty about this ![]()
@didempsikolog Well, we are in society after all, everyoneâs sensitivities are different. If someone is saying âmother,â it shouldnât just stop there; this is a matter of balance.
Itâs not something to be blown out of proportion; itâs something everyone has at home.
In our neighborhood, people immediately talk about such things, honestly, it looks normal from a distance, but you wouldnât want to be the topic of anyoneâs gossip. You learn over time not to put it in the guest bathroom. ![]()
âWhy do you put it in the guest bathroom, my daughter? I guess your mom didnât check either. Even the family canât find it in their own closet, whatâs the deal?
