Girls, I’m 22 years old. Until now, I’ve only used pads, but since it’s exam week, I tried tampons for the first time this month, and honestly, I felt pretty comfortable. The problem is, my roommate saw the package in the closet and told two girls in the kitchen, and then the topic blew up. One of them actually came up to me and said, “If you’re single, you shouldn’t be using those.” Now there’s a weird atmosphere on the floor, like I’ve done something really strange. I’m not fully informed either; I want to know for sure if this is just an urban legend or real information because if my mom finds out, it will be a whole different story.
my old roommate was like that too; as soon as he got close to someone, he would immediately gossip. But you wouldn’t share something private, right? He’s quite something.
Did you say anything to them? Or did you just stay quiet, or did you argue?
@camkenari I was really shocked at that moment, I literally came out of the kitchen. Then there wasn’t a chance to discuss it, and when they confronted me, I didn’t know what to say.
@yaziksu honestly, setting the gossip part aside, what I really don’t get is the mindset that says single women shouldn’t be allowed to use tampons. Neighborhood pressure 101.
a tampon does not break virginity; this is quite an old myth. Even if you’re not sure about this topic, you can visit a gynecologist, as they will explain the anatomy.
That’s not possible. This is a clear violation of privacy.
